The Salazar family ranches are located in the San Luis Valley in Conejos County, Colorado. The ranches produce USDA certified organic grass hay, alfalfa hay, and cattle beef. At an elevation of 7,800 feet, the San Juan region is one of the most fertile production areas in the country. The close, intense sunshine warms the fields by day, while nights are mountainous and cool. The result is protein-rich, high quality hay.
Premium Organic Alfalfa
The high elevations of the San Luis Valley provide warm days and cooler nights, which produces alfalfa high in protein. The typical relative feed values of our alfalfa hay range from 180 to 270, some of the highest available. It is also certified organic by the USDA.
Premium Organic Cattle Beef
We understand that to produce the finest beef, you must give cattle the best environment possible. Our cattle are free to roam thousands of acres of open space and feed on the vigorous grasslands of the San Luis Valley.
